Why Mums Don’t Jump

Short Film

'Why Mums Don't Jump' is an animated short promoting the podcast and book of the same name hosted by journalist Helen Ledwick. The podcast aims to break the taboos surrounding leaks and lumps after childbirth. Helen emphasised that it was important that this film was honest, heartfelt and humorous as well as positive, noisy, energetic and proud - contrasting the silence, shame and invisibility that usually surrounds these conditions. The goal is to reach out to parents experiencing pelvic floor problems such as prolapse and incontinence to let them know they are not alone. In this film we follow a group of mums who are all dealing with life after childbirth, as they share their shock at the mental and physical complications no-one warned them about. The brief was a live client brief as part of a student assignment on the Animation BA (Hons) course at Falmouth University, Cornwall.
